initrdBased on the vanilla kernel (2.6.16.57) from kernel.org.
These kernel packets needs a packet providing linux-initramfs-tool. There is no such packet avaiable at Debian Sarge!
At my Kernel Repository there is the packet yaird which provides linux-initramfs-tool.
But this will only work if the installation of the kernel happens on a running 2.6 kernel. If it is not the case, you can grab
initfamfs-tools from www.backports.org
which will work with 2.4 kernels or install the standard Debian 2.6 Kernel first.
Since version 2.6.14 the kernel supports Intel IPW2200/IPW2100 WLAN chipsets out of the box. To use the the modules you need an additional package containing the needed firmware:
| module | firmware package |
|---|---|
| ipw2100.ko | ipw2100-fw-13 |
| ipw2200.ko | ipw2200-fw-24 |
The packeges are located in the non-free section of my Debian Repository!
There is the base config for i486 processors:
They are patched with these processor specific configs:
For each of them it is build the kernel-header and kernel-image packages.
The package names are build as: kernel-image-2.6.16-fiasko-(athlon|i486|pentium-iv).
The patched kernel source is found in the kernel-source-2.6.16-fiasko,
the kernel documentation in the kernel-doc-2.6.16-fiasko package.
Additional these kernel modules packages are build (some of them found in the non-free section):
fglrx-kernel - ATI Radeon and FireGL video card moduleiowarrior-modules - IO-Warrior modulemisdn-modules - mISDN Driversnvidia-kernel - NVidia video card modulenvidia-kernel-legacy-71xx - NVidia video card module
The package names are build as: <modules-name>-2.6.16-fiasko-(athlon|i486|pentium-iv).
