IPC2T is a package of perl modules providing an ipchains to iptables converter for complex rulesets. It is not only converting from ipchains to iptables syntax, but also takes care of the changed semantic.

The basic features are

• automatic local IP address(es) recognition of the firewall host,
• NAT table generation support for MASQ and REDIRECT targets,
• simple ruleset optimizations
• and connection tracking support.

There is a wrapper program ipc2t which is to be used by the user for the convertion. See also the manual pages of ipc2t(1) and IPC2T(3) for further descriptions.

For installation there are already Debian packages build. They are found in the main section of my Debian Repository. To install from sources just grab the tar.gz from the sources directory.
